MEWS Card

The National Maternity Early Warning Score (MEWS) pocket card adapts national MEWS guidance into a durable format designed for everyday use on the ward.

The layout has been re-drawn to fit a 10 cm × 7 cm reference card, allowing the key scoring and escalation information to be quickly accessed during clinical work. The aim is to make the guidance easier to carry and easier to refer to in practice, particularly in busy clinical environments.

Cards are printed on PVC with rounded corners, making them suitable for use with badge reels or card holders.

This card format has been developed to support teams implementing MEWS locally and may be helpful where clinicians would benefit from a quick reference tool alongside existing charts and electronic systems.

The content is based on national MEWS guidance. The card layout represents a practical print adaptation of the original material.
